Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to decline pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed for participating in the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL) as they are not ready to take risk with him ahead of Asia Cup and World Cup.
Taskin Ahmed received an offer to play the upcoming season of the Sri Lankan league cricket (LPL), Taskin himself confirmed the news on Monday.
"Hridoy will get NOC [for LPL], but with the Asia Cup and the [ODI] World Cup approaching, we have to think about Taskin's workload management. Taskin is already playing in a franchise league [Zim Afro T10] and hence he will have to adhere to the required workload management procedures. That's why he will not be given NOC," a source close to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) told The Daily Star.
Taskin offered to play for Dambulla Aura in LPL. Taskin is currently playing in Zim-Afro T10 League and was impressive so far with the ball.He played five matches and bagged six wickets with excellent bowling.
Meanwhile, his fellow citizen batsman TowhidHridoy also gets a deal for upcoming Lanka Premier League LPL.
Jaffana Kings offered a deal for TowhidHridoy as a replacement for Pakistan Legend Shoaib Malik. According to sources, Hridoy already got No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
However, Itwas doubt whether Taskin will play in LPL with Tigers' special camp ahead of Asia Cup will be held Chittagong and Sylhet.
Eealiar, Lanka Premier League (LPL) franchise Galle Gladiators roped in Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for the upcoming season of the Sri Lankan league cricket.
The prolific all-rounder has been appointed under direct signings for the tournament ahead of the auction on June 11.
The fourth edition of LPL will be played from July 31 to August 22, at three venues, likely to be Hambantota, Colombo and Kandy. Sri Lanka captain DasunShanaka and BhanukaRajapaksa will be Shakib's teammate in the Galle Gladiators.
Sans Sri Lankan T20 tournament, Shakib had already appeared almost all renowned domestic T20 tournaments across the world.
Alongside Shakib, Bangladesh batter Mohammad Mithun was the only player from the country to get picked in the auction of Lanka Premier League 2023. Mithun was sold to Galle at his base price of USD 20,000.LPL will feature five teams Galle Gladiators, Dambulla Aura, Lyca Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers and Kandy Falcons - with each team including six international players.
