Lumpy skin disease spreading in Tangail's Dhanbari
 
The virus of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) has already spread in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail Dhanbari as cows dies of the disease everyday in the upaizla.
The farmers of the upazila have now in trouble as the virus has spread every union of the upazila like an epidemic.

Local doctors are struggling to provide emergency services to the infected cattle. As a result of infection with LSD virus, various symptoms are appearing in the cow's body including fever and gout. Farmers and farmers who come to seek medical care are crowding before the hospital.

The virus is spreading every villages of the upazila while farmers are in facing difficulties due to not getting medical services at the right time.
During a ground visit, it has been found that there are cows infected with the lumpy skin disease in every village of Birtara, Jadunathpur and Dhopakhali Union of the upazila. Especially small calves are affected more. Farmers are suffering huge losses due to disease infection and death of cows.

Two cows of Shahid Ali, a farmer of Birtara union, died of the virus. He has become mentally sick after losing the cows worth lakhs of taka.

Abdul Aziz of Jadunathpur village said he was rearing a cow for profit, but dhis cattle died of the LSD.
Farmers believe that this crisis will end soon if proper treatment is given.

Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Golam Morshed said, "LSD virus has spread everywhere in Dhanbari. For prevention of viral diseases, we are constantly raising awareness through various programs."
