BGB observes Mourning Day
 
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) observed the National Mourning Day in BGB Headquarters in the capital's Pilkhana on Tuesday.

BGB Director General Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan addressed a discussion program on account of the National Mourning Day. Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman liberated Bangladesh with his patriotism, dedication and bravery. Bangabandhu's speech at the Bangladesh Rifles passing out parade on 5 December 1974 was displayed on the occasion.

Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan said that Bangabandhu played pivotal roles in the Language Movement of 1952, Six-Point Movement of 1966, Non-Cooperation Movement of 1969 and brought about Bangladesh's independence through the Liberation War of 1971.

Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan expressed hope that Bangladesh will become Smart Bangladesh by 2041 implementing the Sonar Bangla (Golden Bengal) envisioned by Bangabandhu.BGB personnel distributed food and provided medical services to thousands of destitute people all over Bangladesh marking the National Mourning Day.
