Sumona Haque presents new version of ‘Mayabi Ey Raate’

Popular melodious singer Sumona Haque's title track 'Mayabi Ey Raate' from her 1988 album of the same name is still a very popular track among the listeners. Keeping that in mind, this time on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Sumona Haque presented the song in a brand new way for the audience. The song was written by Sumona Haque's mother, poet Khalida Edib Chowdhury along with Ahmed Yousuf Saber and the music arrangement was done by Fuad Naser Babu.

Sumona Haque performed the song in the popular Channel 9 music show 'Power Lounge', produced and directed by Tanvir Khan and the music show also consists of mega names such as Partha Barua, Bari Siddiqui, Shafi Mandal, Asif Akbar, Mehr Afroze Shaon, Nancy, Tahsan, Belal Khan, Sabbir, Minar and 23 other singers and bands. The music video of that version of the song is now available on the popular online streaming site YouTube.

In 1986, Sumona Haque entered the world of jingles and till now her vocals have been used in about 2000 jingles. That is why she is often identified as the 'Jingle Empress'. Her albums are 'Mayabi Ey Raate' (1988), 'Majhe Kichu Bochor Gelo' (2000), 'Tumi Robe Nirobe' (2008) and 'Kichu Sriti Kichu Bedona' (2015).
