State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman has said that the government stands by the affected businessmen of the Mohammadpur Krishi Market fire.
"Don't worry, Prime Minister is always with you," he said during an exchange of views with traders affected by the fire at Mohammadpur Krishi Market on Saturday, UNB reports.Reassuring the affected businessmen and workers, the state minister said, "The Prime Minister told me to help you with open hands, so that people can know and understand that Sheikh Hasina's government is on their side."
Enamur Rahman said most of the fire incidents happened due to short circuits. Electrical connection should be designed by competent electrical engineers. So not only the government but the people should be aware and they should also come forward to tackle fire incidents.The junior minister also announced 1000 bundles of tin and Tk 1crore assistance for the affected traders. More assistance will be given if necessary. Besides, rice and cash will be given to the affected traders, he added.
Traders will get back their shop's position as they had before the fire. No one will be allowed to occupy anyone's place. As the Krishi Market under the city corporation, it will work to enhance the beauty of the place, the junior minister informed. Md. Sadek Khan, lawmaker from Dhaka-13, Director General of Disaster Management Department Md Mizanur Rahman, local councilor and president of business association Salimullah Salu and Abul Kalam Azad spoke on behalf of the businessmen.
