Famed director and producer in the Bangladesh film industry Shafi Bikrampuri has passed away. He was 80. The influential cinema personality breathed his last early Wednesday while undergoing treatment in a critical condition at a hospital in Bangkok, Bangladesh Film Directors' Association (BFDA) General Secretary Shahin Simon confirmed.
Bikrampuri had made his directorial debut in 1978 through the film 'Rajdulari'.
Shafi Bikrampuri was born on July 4, 1943 at Mottogram under Srinagar upazila in Munshiganj (erstwhile Bikrampur).
Shafi Bikrompuri, a luminary in the world of cinema, has left an indelible mark through his direction, production, and cinematic presentations. Notable works in his repertoire include "Arunodoyer Agnishakkhi" and "Rajdulari", amongst others, showcasing his talent.
His filmography also features "Daku Mansur", "Bahadur", "Sabuj Sathi", "Sokal Sandhya", "Matir Kole", "Joj Saheb", "Denmohor" and "Obuj Moner Valobasha".
