Workshop on Austagram Cheese and Organic Farming Techniques

The society for Bangladesh Agricultural Extension Network organized a learning sharing workshop highlighting the innovation of Austagram cheese production and extension services model.

The workshop was arranged under the title “ Innovation Grant Fund-LMP Project”, held on 18 October 2023, at Hortex Foundation of Sech Bhaban, Dhaka.

At the beginning , a presentation was given on promoting the innovation of cheese production technology through market development, in which different aspects of Austagram cheese were emphasized by Pro. Dr. Ashiqul Islam and his team members, BAU. Later, another presentation was made on strengthening youth and women’s capacity by engaging them into organic and environment friendly sustainable vegetable gardening activities given by Mrs Sabrina and Masuma Akter Panna of BASA Foundation.

Dr. Wais Kabir, former executive chairman, BARC, was the chief guest in the program. Among others Pro. Dr. Sekendar Ali, Secretary General, BAEN and Pro VC, SAU, Dr. Md. Rafiqul Amin, Managing Director, Hortex Foundation, Dr. ABM Khaleduzzaman, Director Production, DLS,  and many representatives from different organizations were present in the workshop. Besides, a number of farmers and entrepreneurs from Sakhipur Union of Tangail and AustagramUpazila of Kishoreganj were also present there.

In addition, the program was inaugurated with a welcome speech addressed by Kbd Afzal Hossain Bhuiyan, Organizing Secretary, BAEN and Lead Coordinator-LMP.  Finally, Dr. Md Younus Ali, one of the BAEN members, put an end to the workshop thanking everyone who participated in the workshop.
