Farmers get free seed, fertilizer in Dimla

 
The distribution of seeds and fertilizers free of cost for the fiscal year 2023-224 has been inaugurated in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari on Sunday.
Organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension, Nilphamari-1 lawmaker Aftab Uddin Sarker inaugurated the free seeds and fertilizer distribution at upazila agriculture office premises yesterday.

A total of 4,010 small and marginal farmers from ten union of the upazila will get free seeds and fertilizer as agriculture incentive under the incentive and rehabilitation programme for the cultivation of mustard, wheat, maize, soyabean, winter onion and green gram in the Rabi season.

Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nur-E-Alam Siddiqui, Upazila Agriculture Office Krishibid Sekendar Ali delivered the welcome speech while Deputy Agriculture Officer Faizul Bari conducted the program.

Upazila Chairman Tobibul Islam, Vice-Chairman Babu Nirendra Nath Roy, Mohila Vice-Chairman Ayesha Siddiqua, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mezbahur Rahman were present on the occasion.

To mention, 900 farmers got 20 kgs of wheat seeds, 10 kgs of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and 10 kgs of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer each while 1100 farmers got 2 kgs of maize seeds, 10 kgs DAP and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizers each.

A total of 1800 farmers received 1 kg of mustard seeds, 10 kgs DAP and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizers each while 60 farmers got 8 kgs of soyabean seeds, 10 kgs DAP and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizers each.

A total of 90 winter onion growers got 1 kg of onion seeds, 10 kgs DAP and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizers each while a total of 60 farmers received 5 kgs green gram seeds, 10 kgs DAP and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizers each.
