Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday inaugurated 50 more model mosques and Islamic cultural centres including Kamalganj Model Mosque across the country as part of her government's program to spread the message of Islam.
The premier opened the mosques in sixth phase after joining a programme along with the Imam of the Holy Masjid-e Nabawi in Medina of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman Al-Bua'Yjan, marking the inauguration of National Imam Council and Prize Giving Ceremony-2023.
The Religious Affairs Ministry organized the function at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre at Rupganj of Narayanganj. On the occasion, Kamalganj upazila administration organized an inauguration program in the upazila.
Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Joynal Abedin, Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Urme Binte Islam was present as the chief guest.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Monjur Rahman, Moulvibazar Public Works Department Executive Engineer Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, Kamalganj Upazila Chairman Prof Rafiqur Rahman, Kamalganj Police Station OC Sanjay Chakraborty, Kamalganj Upazila Health Complex Officer Mahbubul Alam Bhuiyan, Kamalganj Corruption Prevention Committee President Imtiaz Ahmed Bulbul, Upazila Vice-Chairman Ram Bhajan Koiry, Kamalganj Press Club General Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
