Building up smart telemedicine on cards: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said that over two hundred diabetic hospitals will be established across Bangladesh with broadband internet connections. In this way a smart telemedicine system will be soon built up, Zunaid Ahmed Palak further said. Zunaid Ahmed Palak conveyed the above information on Tuesday while virtually addressing a program on account of World Diabetes Day as the chief guest.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman brought about a great deal of beneficial changes in Bangladesh's health sector right after the country's independence. Bangabandhu's capable daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has transformed villages into towns with updated education, healthcare services and internet connectivity delivered at people's doorsteps, Zunaid Ahmed Palak stated.

Under Sheikh Hasina's government, 50-bed hospitals in upazilas and over 14 thousand community clinics have been constructed to ensure better healthcare services to ordinary people, Zunaid Ahmed Palak added.
