RJ Zibraan: A popular content creator in Bangladesh
Muhtasim Rahman who is well known as RJ Zibraan, a young, upbeat content creator, is a very popular name to the country's people.
He always creates magic in his work and gives people something new through his contents.
Recalling his initial days, he said: "My journey started when I started working at a local radio station named Radio Padma. I had to learn to talk properly in standard Bangla. My parents wanted me to study engineering but I knew that I will not be a good engineer. So I told them that I want to go to Dhaka and study BBA. My parents were upset to hear that so they accepted it but only wanted to give tuition fees and I have to earn money to fulfill my basic needs."
"Then I came to Dhaka. From there, my struggle began. At first, I used to live in Mohammadpur and started tuition for Tk6,000, which was not enough. Then a friend of mine from Dhaka University told me to stay with him in his hall. There I had to bear only my food cost. I started to apply for different jobs. I went to a lot of interviews and got rejected. It was a very hard time."
"I never lost hope. I tried and every time I improved myself. I thought about what I wanted to do and will love doing it. So, I started to apply for radio jockey (RJ) at different radio stations. I got rejected by Radio Next, Radio Dhoni and Spice FM. I finally got a job at Bangla Radio 95.2 FM. I still remember that I used to walk to go to my office because if I take a rickshaw then in the middle of the month I will not have any money."
That is when it struck his mind that he had to do something bigger in his life.
"While I was working on the radio station I thought about making videos where I will read to people and I started to make videos. It took me almost two and a half years to reach people and make people believe in me. After that, I started to get followers. When I make a video, I always think about them. I think about what I can give them. I always try to give them something new."
"I try to talk from different angles and talk about different genres. I have already talked about history, art, literature, and sports. I have already done infotainment. So, I think this is why people love me and still have faith in me."
"It is not easy without the faith of the followers. After some time different brands and advertising agencies started to come to me and I have worked with them. I never looked back after that. I am a very business-minded person. What I earn, I invest. Now, I have financial stability and love from my followers. My popularity has reached outside Bangladesh. People from abroad see my videos and they enjoy hearing me. Recently I went to Qatar to host the launch event of a book written by that country's deputy prime minister.
"It was not an easy journey. But I believe if I had not gone through this journey full of struggles, I couldn't be who I am today. Life is a story so I tried to make it a good one."
