The Victory Day, the most precious day of the Bangalees, was celebrated amid festivity and fervor in Brahmanbaria on Saturday (December 16, 2023).
The program of the day started at dawn with a 31-gun salute on the premises of the Martyrs' Memorial Monument at Faruki Park in Brahmanbaria town.
Local lawmaker and Brahmanbaria district Awami League President RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury flanked by his party leaders and activists paid rich homage to the martyrs by placing a wreath at the monument.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Habibur Rahman, Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Shakhawat Hossain, Municipal Mayor Nayar Kabir among others conveyed tributes to the martyrs with flowers.
Different government, non-government institutions, Brahmanbaria Press Club and social-cultural organizations also paid homage to the martyrs.
A smartly turned-out contingent of police gave guard of honor to the martyrs while a bugle played the tune of grief and somber.
Various programs including conferring reception to the heroic freedom fighters were also arranged at the initiative of the district administration.
