Two-day polling officers training begins in Rajshahi
 
A two-day training for the polling officers ahead of the upcoming 12th parliament election began at Paba upazila of Rajshahi district on Tuesday. 

Paba Upazila Election Office is hosting the training for 1,946 presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers at Nawhata Government High School auditorium in the upazila. 

Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer of Rajshahi Shamim Ahmed addressed the opening ceremony as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Assistant Returning Officer Abu Saleh Muhammad Hasnat in the chair. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) Muhammad Abdur Raquib, Senior District Election Officer Shahinur Islam Pramanik and Upazila Election Officer Shahidul Islam Pramanik also spoke on the occasion.  

Shamim Ahmed said the forthcoming national polls will be competitive, free and fair as they are putting in their level best efforts to make the election proper, peaceful and successful to attain the trust and confidence of the voters in general. 

The election will be proper as the voters will come to the centres to exercise their rights spontaneously, he added.
