Latif Siddiqui wins in Tangail 4 constituency
Independent candidate Abdul Latif Siddiqui has won the 12th parliamentary election from Tangail 4 constituency with truck symbol. He has gained 70940 votes.
Abdul Latif Siddiqui's closest contestant Md. Mozharul Islam Talukder from Awami League has got 54075 votes. 354556 voters cast their ballots in the above constituency in 113 polling centers.
Abdul Latif Siddiqui was expelled from Awami League a couple of years ago over blasphemous comments. For this reason he decided to contest in the election as an independent candidate. He was given truck symbol by the Election Commission.
The results of the above constituency were issued on Sunday evening which were signed by Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Assistant Returning Officer of Tangail 4 constituency.
