'Maximum utilisation of Climate Fund to be ensured'

 
Maximum use of Climate Fund money will be ensured through transparency, new Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Saber Hossain Chowdhury said.

He made the remarks while talking to journalists immediately after taking oath as minister on Thursday evening.

He said, maximum efforts will be made to bring the allocation from the International Loss and Damage Fund at the earliest. And the alloted money will be distributed among the actual affected people, the minister added.

The Environment Minister said that true sustainable development is not possible without the development of the environment. Therefore, the policies and ideals of Bangladesh must be implemented to protect the environment.

Besides, the 'Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan' will be implemented.

At that time, he also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving him a chance to serve the ministry.
