Tripura to adopt Integrated Financial Management System 2.0 Tripura Finance Minister
In a bid to revolutionize public financial management, the Tripura Finance Department gears up to implement the latest version of its Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS 2.0).

“Led by Shri Akinchan Sarkar, Additional Secretary of Finance, a delegation comprising officials from the Finance Department, NIC Tripura, and representatives from the Principal AG (ASE) Tripura recently visited Rajasthan to study their IFMS model. Drawing insights from this visit, the State Government aims to develop IFMS 2.0, a more efficient solution tailored to Tripura's needs,” secretary Tripura Finance Department Apurba Roy informed media persons on Tuesday.

Explaining the significance of the move, Roy said, “The unveiling of IFMS 2.0 marks a significant step towards modernizing financial operations in Tripura, promising greater efficiency and transparency. With a focus on both revenue growth and organizational development, the Finance Department sets a course for a prosperous and technologically advanced future.”

 According to Roy, the state’s revenue collection has improved substantially over the years and this year as well a significant surge was recorded.  

“GST collections surged to Rs 3303.58 crore in January '24, marking a 16.07% growth compared to the previous year. Similarly, State Excise collections rose by 10%, reaching Rs 327.90 crore, while Taxes on Vehicles and Sales witnessed growth rates of 13.09% and 16.50%, respectively. Overall, State Own Tax Revenue reached Rs. 2656.86 Cr, up by 7.81% from the previous year, with Non-Tax Revenue also showing a healthy growth of 7.24%,” Roy pointed out.

In a move to strengthen its workforce, the Finance Department has filled ten vacant posts of Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura, and initiatives are underway to recruit Senior Computer Assistants (SCAs) and technical positions under the Directorate of Treasuries.
