The two-day third Nazrul Festival 2024 featuring Bangladeshi and Indian Nazrul artistes was held at the Gulshan Society Lake Park in Dhaka.
The festival featuring songs, poems and dance recitals synchronised with songs written by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam ended on Saturday.
Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha, Gulshan Society, and Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre jointly organized the festival inaugurated by Social welfare minister Dipu Moni on Friday. The convener of the event, Khairul Anam Shakil, delivered the welcome speech while Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Verma and cultural affairs secretary Khalil Ahmed were present as guests at the inaugural ceremony.
Noted researcher Mafidul Haque spoke as the key speaker at the event.
The festival featured Bangladeshi Nazrul exponents, including Khairul Anam Shakil, Yasmeen Mushtari, Nashid Kamal and Ferdous Ara, among others, and Indian artistes, including Manomoy Bhatacharya, Raghab Chaterjee, Tushar Duta, Sreeradha Banerjee, Payel Kar and Debarati Chakraborty with young and talented singers of Bangladesh.
Shanta Holdings is the title sponsor of the event. Other sponsors of the event include Bengal Foundation, City Bank, Coca-Cola, Eastern Bank and Novoair.
