Police maintains three-tier security in Khulna on Eid

Police have taken three-tier security measures in the city on holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslims, an official said on Monday.  

"We have taken adequate security measures throughout the city ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr," Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque said in a media briefing at his headquarters. 

The security measures include smart and disciplined traffic management system, recovery of footpaths, ensuring security of all shopping malls in the city, patrolling at midnight when the shopping malls remain closed, he said. 

He also said KMP has been maintaining tight security since the beginning of holy Ramadan as well. 

Haque said check posts have already been set up in each upazila and shopping malls, and patrolling has been enhanced on highways in the district.  

The law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to stop land grabbing and to help people lead a hassle free life, he said, adding that everybody should be aware of preventing cyber-crime. Police will also ensure security of the city dwellers in the city. Along with Additional Police Commissioner Taslima Khatun, high officials of KMP were present in the briefing.
