AL demands repatriating Sheikh Hasina from abroad

 
Thousands of leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) have staged a demonstration in Kotalipara of Gopalganj with a vow to bring the party President and ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to the country immediately.

The AL men wearing burial shrouds on their heads took part in the rally held on Kotalipara Upazila Parishad around 11 am on Saturday.

The Awami League agitators took an oath in front of the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the area conducted by Mahabub Ali Khan, president of Gopalganj District unit Awami League. During the oath-taking, the party men also chanted various slogans to accelerate the repatriation of Sheikh Hasina.

While addressing the program, Mahabub Ali said, "Our movement will continue until Awami League President and Bangabandhu's elder daughter Sheikh Hasina returns to the country. We took to the streets and will be on the streets until her repatriation." The leaders, activists and workers of the party and its different fronts and associate bodies from 11 unions of the upazila and a municipality attended the demonstration equipped with sticks and other lethal weapons.

GM Shahabuddin Azam, General Secretary of Gopalganj District unit AL, Bhabendranath Biswas, president of Kotalipara Upazila unit AL, and Ayanal Hossain Sheikh, general secretary of the same unit, among others, were present at the demonstration.
