Faruk E Azam to take oath of office

Freedom fighter Faruk E Azam is scheduled to take the oath of office as an advisor on Tuesday.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath at the Bangabhaban at 11am.

The president’s press wing confirmed the news on Monday, bdnews24 reports.

Bir Protik Faruk E Azam was not present during the swearing-in ceremony of the interim government on Aug 8 as he was in the United States. He returned to Bangladesh on Sunday night.

Of the 27 ministries led by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, Bidhan Ranjan Roy was given the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Sunday.
Supradip Chakma also took his oath on Sunday and was appointed as the advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.

A new interim government led by Yunus has taken the reins of Bangladesh to following the ouster of the Awami League and the departure of Sheikh Hasina.

The newly appointed council has 16 members, including four women.
