Ansar-VDP members postponed their abstinence from duty after a successful meeting with Home Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) M. Shakhawat Hossain on Tuesday in Dhaka. Director General of Ansar-VDP Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud also attended the meeting.     -AA
 

Members of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) have called off their strike. Newly appointed Director General of Ansar-VDP Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud and five coordinators of Ansar-VDP had a meeting yesterday with the interim government's Home Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) M. Shakhawat Hossain at the Secretariat.

Brigadier General (Retd) M. Shakhawat Hossain listened to the Ansar-VDP members attentively and assured to regularize their jobs. He gave necessary instructions to the Home Ministry in this regard. Brigadier General (Retd) M. Shakhawat Hossain told the Ansar-VDP Director General to resolve some other issues which were raised by the Ansar-VDP members during the meeting, as stated in a press release from Ansar-VDP Headquarters located in the capital's Khilgaon.

Brigadier General (Retd) M. Shakhawat Hossain urged all Ansar-VDP personnel to carry out their duty with professionalism, patience, discipline and sincerity across Bangladesh. The press release was signed by Ansar-VDP Assistant Director Md. Rubel Hossain dated 13 August 2024.
