JnU students condemn India's antagonism towards BD

Students of Jagannath University (JnU) organized a protest rally demanding an end to border killings and the cancellation of what they termed as Bangladesh's "submissive" foreign policy towards India. The rally, held on Tuesday afternoon under the banner of Jagannath University Students' Forum, voiced strong opposition to ongoing issues between the two nations.

During the protests, students called for justice for every individual killed at the border, urging the government to compile a list of victims and offer necessary support to their families. They also demanded that future agreements with India must be made on equal terms, rejecting any form of subservience or discrepancies. The protesters urged the Indian authorities to give up their antagonistic attitude towards Bangladesh.

Faisal Murad, a student from the Department of Management Studies, stated, "India has installed an oppressive government in our country to impose unequal agreements. India has exploited us, while our government has kept us in the dark. Thousands of people, not just a few, have been killed at the border, and the news of these atrocities never reached us due to government restrictions." Yasin Piyas, a student from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, said, "The Modi government has consistently tried to harm us-through water, foreign policy, and border killings. They have forced us into aggressive agreements, while the fascist Sheikh Hasina government maintained a subservient relationship with India. Our people are suffering as a result. Over 1,500 people have been killed by BSF gunshots, and these murders are normalized on a monthly basis. We demand a fair foreign policy with India."
