Birganj observes Int'l Day for Disaster Risk Reduction

Birganj upazila administration observed the 'International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction-2024' on Sunday in a befitting manner.

The theme of the day this year is 'the role of education in protecting and empowering youth for a disaster-free future'.

To mark the day, a procession was brought out in the upazila where a large number of people from all walks of life took part.

Late, a discussion was held at upazila parishad premises where Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Fazle Elahi addressed the program as the chief guest with Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md Sanaullah was in the chair.

At the end of the discussion, The drill was organized to increase awareness of fire prevention and extinguishing by the personnel of Upazila Fire Service.

Birganj Upazila Fire Service In-charge Md Moslem Uddin, Team Leader Md Shahidul Islam along with Upazila Ansar and VDP Trainer Korimon Nesa, Birganj Upazila Press Club General Secretary Md Siddik Hossain, teachers and students were present on the occasion.
