Speakers at the condolence meeting for late poet and writer Syed Shamsul Haq said haq contributed his life for the country and its people. They recalled that Haq wrote poems, dramas, novels, articles etc and created a new phenomenon in Bengali language during his life time.
Bangabandhu Shilpi Goshti, greater Chittagong committee arranged the commemorating meeting for late poet and writer Syed Shamsul Haq at DC Hill in the port city o Saturday evening. President Bangabandhu Shilpi Goshti, greater Chittagong committee Poet and Journalist Nazimuddin Shyamol chaired the function. Director of Rupali bank, former president of Chittagong Press Club and Awami League leader Abu Sufian addressed the meeting as chief guest.
Addressing the meeting, Abu Sufian said, "The death of poet and writer Sayed Shamsul Haq is a great loss for the country. He was an ambassador of progress in our country. He contributed in liberation war and in all progressive movements of Bangladesh." Among others, Lion Jafar Ullah, Prof Hasina Jakaria, artist Dipen Chowdhury, ADC Jahangir Alam, Ward Councilor Saifuddin Khaled, Mohammad Lipton , Shankar Dey, Papya Akhter addressed the condolence meeting. The condolence meeting expressed honor by standing silent for one minute to late poet and writer Shamsul Haq.
