Fazlur Rahman Babu, a renowned Bangladeshi actor and singer, has won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor a record five times for his outstanding performances in various roles.
In a recent discussion, he expressed grave concern over the ongoing turmoil in the country. He remarked, "In the 53 years since the country's independence, I have never witnessed such chaos."
Speaking about veteran actor Mamunur Rashid, Fazlur Rahman Babu said, "I have never seen Mamunur Rashid work for any political party.
He might hold leftist ideologies, but he has never been seen supporting any particular party. Yet, he has faced threats of being banned from entering the Shilpakala Academy, and there's a campaign to prevent him from acting again. Recently, he was even pelted with eggs. I am deeply worried about such incidents."
Commenting on the overall instability, Fazlur Rahman Babu added, "The country is heading towards a situation where no one can control anyone else. If this continues, the entire nation may spiral out of control. The government must address this issue promptly."
His remarks reflect the concerns of many citizens regarding the ongoing political and social unrest in Bangladesh.
