Workshop on annual research review closes in BLRI

The closing ceremony of the 'Annual Research Review Workshop-2024', organized by the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) was held yesterday at Savar, reviewing the results and progress of the studies completed in the fiscal year 2023-24.

Nazmun Nahar Karim, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), said, “Livestock is an important sector of the economy in Bangladesh. Officials and farmers, including all levels of government and private organizations, are working to produce safe animal protein. The BLRI and the Department of Livestock Resources have to work towards the widespread expansion of sustainable technology innovation and popular technologies at the field level. Besides, Research activities should be undertaken to prevent antimicrobial resistance.”

Dr. Shakila Faruk, Director General of BLRI, said, "We have to work on developing climate-resilient animal breeds to deal with the impact of climate change. In this regard, our indigenous varieties are more efficient for adapting to weather conditions.
