Kazi Jahangir Kabir, widely known by his stage name Jon Kabir, has emerged as one of the most iconic figures in Bangladesh's music and entertainment industry. Jon’s passion for music led him to become a trailblazer in alternative rock, grunge, and acoustic genres. Jon Kabir’s musical journey began in the late 1990s when he co-founded the rock band Black alongside Mushfeque Jahan and Tony Vincent. Drawing inspiration from global rock giants such as Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, the band released critically acclaimed albums including Amar Prithibiand Abar. Jon Kabir’s talents extend beyond music. He has earned accolades for his performances in television dramas and web series, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Additionally, in 2020, Jon launched a podcast, I Started a Podcast, where he interviews influential individuals, providing fans with a deeper glimpse into the lives of creative minds.

Jon Kabir’s contributions to the arts have earned him numerous accolades, including the Artist Journalist Forum of Bangladesh (AJFB) Award, BABISAS Award, TRUB Award and Bangladesh Achievers Awards for Best Singer. These awards highlight his lasting impact on Bangladesh’s cultural and entertainment landscape.

Jon Kabir is also one of the highest-paid artists in the Bangladeshi music and entertainment industry. He commands a fee of ten to twelve lakh taka per musical performance, reflecting the immense demand for his talent and the value he brings to every show.

As a judge on competitions like D Rocktar and GTV Fantaband, Jon has nurtured upcoming talents. His role as a brand ambassador for major companies such as Grameenphone and British American Tobacco further highlights his influence in popular culture. An honorary member of the Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA), Jon Kabir continues to champion the evolution of the country’s music scene. Known for his candid opinions, Jon remains an advocate for artistic integrity and professionalism.
