Dr Mehedi Hasan made new BASIS Administrator

 
The government has appointed Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, as the administrator of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
An office order was issued by Mohammad Navid Shafiullah, an Additional Secretary and Director General of the Ministry of Commerce yesterday.

The office order said, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) is a registered trade organization licensed by the Ministry of Commerce. Russell T Ahmed, President of the board of directors of BASIS on October 17, and Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan, Vice President (Finance) on October 19, resigned due to personal reasons.

Therefore, in accordance with Section 17 of the Trade Unions Act, 2022, the reconstituted Board of Directors of the organization was abolished and Dr. Mohammad Mehedi Hasan, Additional Secretary of the Information and Technology Division, has been appointed as the administrator of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS). He will organize a free and fair election within 120 days to form a new committee for BASIS.
