With the theme, "Uniting with Youth against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity," the International Anti-Corruption Day was observed in Saturia upazila of Manikganj district on Monday in a befitting manner. Marking the day, a human chain was held in front of the upazila parishad gate in the morning. Later, the upazila administration organized a discussion held at upazila parishad auditorium with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Iqbal Hossain addressed as the chief guest.
Upazila Anti-Corruption Commissioner President Gonesh Chandra presided over the program.
Speaking on the occasion, UNO Iqbal Hossain said, "It is high time to be vocal against corruption. If we want to establish a developed country, it must be free from all sorts of corruption."
The chief guest also urged all to raise their voices against corruption to eliminate the long-persisting social menace effectively.
Among others, Saturia Police Station OC Shahinul Islam, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Jesmin Akter along with officers from various offices in the upazila and teachers from schools and colleges were present on the occasion.
