Tarique, Fakhrul, Khosru invited to Trump's prayer breakfast

 
BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, along with two other senior party leaders, has been invited to the national prayer breakfast in the United States. The invitation was extended by US President-elect Donald Trump for the event set to take place in February.

The other invited leaders are BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

On Saturday, BNP media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed that the invitation was delivered by the US mission to the party's secretary general on Friday.

The event will take place on Feb 5 and 6 in Washington, DC, organised by members of the US Congress.

The event, which is a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinners, is attended yearly by some 3,500 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries.

National Prayer Breakfast is an annual programme held in Washington, DC, on the first Thursday of February every year under the leadership of US Congress.

It is a platform for political and religious leaders to come together through prayer and interfaith dialogue.Trump, re-elected as president in the November 2024 elections, will begin his second term at the White House on Jan 20, 2025.
