Ex-food official Ashraful Islam passes away

Ashraful Islam, former District Controller of Food (DCF), passed away on 13 January 2025, at the age of 68. Born on 16 August 1956, to Rafiqul Islam and Begum Zinnat Ara, Ashraful Islam was highly regarded for his philanthropy and compassion, as well as his deep love for animals.

He is survived by his wife, Bilkis Islam, a former Commissioner of the Faridpur Municipal Committee, his daughter, Kiswath Islam, and his son, Samiul Islam Pulock. His Namaz-e-Janaza was held after Maghrib prayer and he was laid to rest at Alipur Graveyard, Faridpur, on the same day.

Late Ashraful Islam's family members have requested his colleagues, friends and well-wishers to pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
