In recent years, journalism in Bangladesh has undergone significant transformation, emerging as a lucrative profession for those with expertise, experience, and a commitment to impactful storytelling. Among the most accomplished and highest-paid journalists in the country, Ahmed Pipul stands out as a leading figure in the media industry.

Ahmed Pipul’s career spans over two decades, during which he has made remarkable contributions to journalism, media strategy, and content development. His extensive experience includes serving as CEO, Editor, and Managing Director of Media Today Limited (FM Radio), Special Correspondent at NTV, and Staff Reporter at The Daily Manabzamin. His tenure at NTV  saw him covering high-profile national events, including the activities of the Honorable President and Prime Minister, producing in-depth investigative reports and political analysis.

Beyond journalism, Ahmed Pipul is also a renowned content creator and researcher, having developed over 400 audiovisual documentaries and numerous TV spots, talk shows, and commercials. His innovative approach to storytelling has earned him a strong reputation in media circles.

According to the Bangladesh Gazette (Extraordinary Issue, September 12, 2019), the 9th Newspaper Wage Board Ordinance significantly increased salaries for journalists, employees, and press workers. Under this ordinance, salaries have increased by 80% for the first three grades and 85% for the last three grades, making journalism a financially competitive profession.

For instance, the Special Grade salary under the 9th Wage Board structure ranges from ৳64,575 to ৳102,375, demonstrating the growing financial rewards in the media industry. Grade-1 journalists earn between ৳57,330 and ৳89,730, further highlighting the profession's lucrative potential. The interim special allowance of 45%, effective from March 1, 2018, was also incorporated into the final wage structure, ensuring fair compensation for media professionals.
