Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie on Sunday said the UN report has made it clear that students and people were killed during July movement at the directives of Sheikh Hasina.
The report revealed that the fascist government led by ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina has violated the human rights. Annie said this while addressing a function on the occasion of annual sports competition of Laharkandi High School in Lakshmipur yesterday. The BNP leader said the UN has suggested bring the Awami League leader and Sheikh Hasina to the court of justice.
Former BNP MP said Sheikh Hasina destroyed every sector of the country and power, not people, was everything for her.
Sheikh Hasina followed every path including killing and enforced disappearance to make her power permanent. The government must preserve the UN report and it should be incorporated in the textbooks for school students, he said.
Terming the 'patriotism' showed by the present youth generation as exemplary, the BNP leader said, "It inspires us when we see that youths are not retreating even after gunshot on them from helicopter."
Apart from the July movement, Annie noted that the fascist government also made them hostage through repression, implicating in lawsuits and different forms of attack.
Former mayor of Lakshmipur Municipality Sahabuddin Sabu, Hasanuzzaman Chowdhury Mintoo, Lakshmipur Poura BNP convener Mahbubur Rahman Liton spoke on the occasion while Head Master of the school Jahangir Alam was in the chair.
