Police constable found hanging in Satkhira
A police constable reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Satkhira's Sadar upazila early Sunday.
The incident took place around 3 am on Saturday (February 15) at his rented house in Rasulpur area of ​​Satkhira town.
The dead was Anupam Kumar Ghosh, 26, son of Ashish Kumar Ghosh, hailed from Durgapur Kharamkhali village under Chitalmari upazila in Bagerhat. His constable number is 1122.
Police said that Constable Anupam Ghosh worked at Satkhira Police Lines. He used to live in a rented house with his wife in Rasulpur area. After duty, he returned home around 2 am on Saturday.
Around 3 am, he hung himself by tying a towel from the ceiling fan in his room. He was rescued and taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital around 3:30 am where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Islam confirmed the incident and said, "We went to the spot early in the morning. It is believed that he committed suicide by hanging himself due to a family dispute."
