Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury (1944--2022), a legendary Bengali lyricist, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions of audiences across Bangladesh with his timeless lyrics. Songs like “Amay Deko Na, Ferano Jabe Na”, “Jekhane Simanto Tomar, Sekhane Basanto Amar”, “Aaj Ei Bristir Kanna Dekhe”, “Ei Rupali Guitar Fele” and “Kobita Porar Prohor Eshechhe” continue to mesmerize with music lovers of all ages till today. Though the timeless song writer passed away on 22 February 2022, his lyrical creations remain immortal. To honor his memory on his death anniversary, a new song, ‘Ritwik Smarane’, has been released, according to a press release issued to The Asian Age by Cool Exposure on Saturday.
This song is dedicated to two artistic souls—Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury and Ritwik Ghatak—who will live on through their artistic contributions. Singer Nafis Kamal said that this project holds deep emotional significance for him, as Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury was also the lyricist of his very first song “Elomelo”, composed by Naquib Khan. The song gained immense popularity after being televised on Ittadi back in 1999. After a long break, Nafis Kamal returns with ‘Ritwik Smarane’. The official music video of the above song was released on February 22, the death anniversary of Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury. The audio version of the song was released on February 14 and has already received remarkable feedback from listeners, the press release added.
The song has been composed by Syed Kallol, with music arrangement by Tushar Rahman. The animated music video, directed by Sagor Sen and Sehaj Sindhu and produced by the Abol-Tabol team, was officially released on Saturday (22 February 2025) at 7:30 PM on Nafis Kamal’s YouTube, Facebook and other social media platforms, the press release concludes.
