Sultana Yesmin Layla honored with the Best Singer award
Sultana Yesmin Layla has been honored as the Best Singer at the Bangladesh Entertainment Journalists Association (BABISAS) Award 2023–2024.
The prestigious award ceremony took place on Saturday (22 February) at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in a grand celebration.
Legendary actress Anwara Begum, the chief guest of the event, presented the award to Sultana Yesmin Layla. Special guest Tashiq Ahmed, the Broadcast and Program Advisor of ATN Bangla, was also in attendance. The ceremony was presided over by Abul Hossain Mazumdar.
Expressing her gratitude, Sultana Yesmin Layla said, "This honor is a tremendous source of inspiration for me. It will further drive my passion and dedication to music. I sincerely thank everyone for this recognition and love."
This year, the BABISAS 23–24 Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon film personalities Anwara Begum and Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Ujjal, while Ferdous Ara received the honor for her contributions to music. Special honors were awarded to film personalities Rozina, Rubel, and Tashiq Ahmed.
Additional awards in various categories were presented to D.A. Tayeb, Mamunur Rashid Imon, Nirab Hossain, Joy Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed, Shiba Sanu, Rashed Mamun Apu, Naznin Hasan Khan, Md. Fahad, Golam Kibria Tanvir, Romana Islam Mukti, Shabnam Bubly, Shabnam Parveen, Arpana Rani Rajbanshi, Bobby Haque, among others.
