Power Adviser seeks cooperation to stop load shedding in Ramadan
Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan on Sunday sought cooperation to stop load shedding during the month of Ramadan.
He was speaking at a view-exchange meeting with Muslim devotees at Kakrail Circuit House Mosque.
"Cooperation is needed to reduce sufferings of the people due to load shedding," he added.
Fouzul Kabir requested all concerned not to set AC temperature below 25°C aimed at avoiding load shedding.
"A plan was taken to keep the country free from load shedding during the Ramadan. We have to monitor that households, shops, shopping malls, petrol pumps and CNG stations should avoid unnecessary illumination and lightings," he added.
Addressing the view-exchange meeting, adviser said load shedding occurs due to various reasons as the electricity demand during the summer and irrigation season jumps to 17,000-18,000 MW, which varies from 9,000 to 10,000 MW in winter.
On the occasion of Ramadan, the government has been importing four cargoes of LPG to ensure smooth supply of electricity.
