World's biggest semiconductor chip manufacturer Intel had quit office from Bangladesh. Recently, Zia Manzur, Country Business Manager, Bangladesh, got exemption from job. But, not only in Bangladesh, this world famous computer processor manufacturing company quit their business from Pakistan and Srilanka as well. As per the news source, they quit had their offices to minimize costs.
An Intel official of Bangladesh was asked how their business operations would be operated in Bangladesh and in reply he said that the whole operations would be operated through a channel hub. But, he said nothing when he was asked why Intel quit their office from Bangladesh, though their business was running well over here.It was informed that the channel hub may be set up in Singapore, from where Intel would operate their businesses in these three countries.
This chip manufacturer of U.S.A declared layoffs of 12 thousand workers worldwide in April of the current year. As per the calculation, 11% of the total workers are to get dismissed. Intel is not in good condition in the businesses of microchip, power data center and in internet connected device, too. As the PC market has got smaller in the recent years, the company failed to get success even in chip-market. Intel now intends to concentrate in cloud computing and smart connected device business.
Besides computer processors, Intel has been manufacturing motherboard chipset, network interface controller, integrated circuit, flash memory, graphics card, connected processors and other computer related products. Before Intel, world's one of the biggest IT (Information Technology) related product manufacturing company Heulet Plackard (HP) had quit their office from Bangladesh.Like then, the businessmen and analysts of the ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) sector are surprised due to Intel's quitting office from Bangladesh. HP now is operating the business activities of Bangladesh from Singapore.
Country's one of the prominent IT products importer and marketing company Smart Technologies' General Manager Mujahidul Al Beruni Sujon said, "If a company's country office is situated in our country, we can have huge business opportunities locally. But it is not possible when the country office is outside the country. We still don't know how Intel will operate their business operations here, quitting their office."
