National booters plays friendly match today

The Bangladesh national football team, now undergoing condition camp in Taif, is schedule to play a friendly football match against Al Wehdat Football Club of Taif on Thursday as part of preparation for their AFC Asian Cup qualifier against India.

The match kicks off at 1.30 am (Bangladesh time).

Bangladesh national football team's manager Amer Khan through a video message on Wednesday said the team is going to play a practice match against Al Wahdat Club on Thursday.

"Since the friendly match against Sudan was not played as per the plan. So the team would now play against Al Wehdat Football Club because among the some local selections this team is currently involved in competition and so they have chosen to play the match against this club," he added.

Earlier, the Italian league playing forward Fahamedul Islam, who was included in the 30-member Bangladesh preliminary squad, joined the national team's training camp in Saudi Arabia last (Monday) night.

He joined the Bangladesh national team's camp in the Saudi Arabian city of Taif Monday midnight.

Bangladesh National Football team, currently training in the Saudi Arabian city of Taif for their AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers match against India, also performed Umrah on Monday (March 10) during a break of their practice session.

Bangladesh team will play giant neighbor India in their first match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against hosts India on March 25 in the hilly city of Shillong.

Bangladesh football team reached the Saudi Arabian city of Taif last Thursday to undergo a 12-day intensive training there for their AFC Asian Cup qualifiers match against India and an intensive training there.

The Bangladesh team will return home on March 17.

The Bangladesh-origin English Premier League footballer Hamza Dewan Chowdhury, who was included in the 30-member Bangladesh preliminary squad alongside Italian league player Fahamedul Islam, will arrive in Bangladesh on March 17.

Hamza will directly reach Sylhet from London by a Bangladesh Biman flight in the morning on March 17 and stay one night at his home district Habiganj with his wife and children.

He will join the India-bound national team's camp in Dhaka the next day (Mar 18) with the Bangladesh preliminary squad which will return from Saudi Arabia in the evening on March 17.

Defenders: Shakil Ahad, Shakil Hossain, Rahmat Mia, Isa Faisal, Mohammad Tajuddin, Tariq Raihan Kazi, Topu Barma, Saad Uddin, Sushanto Tripura, Mohammad Ridoy, Papon Singh and Syed Shah Quazem Kirmranee.

Midfielders: Md Sohel Rana, Sohel Rana, Chandon Roy, Mojibar Rahman Jony, Shekh Morsalin, Jamal Bhuyan, Hamza Dewan Chowdhury, Foysal Ahmed Fahim.

Forwards: Rakib Hossain, Shahriar Emon, Mohammad Ibrahim, Arif Hossain, Al Amin, Piash Ahmad Nova, and Fahamedul Islam.
