55,191 children to be fed vitamin A plus capsule in CCC tomorrow

A total of 55,191 children will be fed Vitamin A Plus capsules in Cumilla City Corporation (CCC) tomorrow (March 15) as part of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 2025.

CCC Chief Executive Officer Shamsul Alam revealed the information to the journalists at a press conference held at the conference room of Nagar Bhaban on Thursday.

He said, "Under the campaign, about 7,825 children aged between six months and 11 months will be given capsule with blue color while about 47,366 children aged between 12 and 59 months will be administered with red color capsule on the day."

"The National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign is an important program, which plays an important role in preventing malnutrition problems among children. We have taken all the preparations for the successful implementation of the program. A total of 114 permanent and temporary vaccination centers have been set up in the city", he added.

Speakers in the press conference advised the guardians to bring their children to Cumilla Sadar Hospital or Cumilla Medical College Hospital if their children feel any problem after taking Vitamin A plus capsule.

CCC Secretary Mohammad Mamun, Executive Engineer Md Abu Sayem Bhuiyan, Medical Officer Dr Chandona Rani Debnath, Administrative

Officer Mohammad Harun Or Rashid and Medical Technologist (EPI) Md Jahirul Islam, among others, were present at the press conference.

Among others, journalists from various print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
