US, BD reiterate commitment for stronger bonds on military turfs

Lieutenant General Joel P. Vowell, Deputy Commanding General, US Army Pacific, had meetings with counterparts in the armed forces of Bangladesh, reinforcing the U.S. Army's commitment to a stronger relationship with Bangladesh Army while highlighting shared security interests and ongoing reciprocal cooperation which includes the following points, according to a press release issued by the US Embassy, Dhaka on Wednesday. 

· Recognition of the Bangladesh Army's ongoing support?to domestic security, particularly in light of other demands such as disaster response.

· Dialogue?on Bangladesh's primary military challenges and potential areas where the U.S. can provide support.

· Discussion of Exercise Tigher lightning in Summer 2025.

· Potential acquisition of U.S.-origin equipment to enhance interoperability and capabilities.

· Appreciation for the professionalism of the Bangladesh armed forces?and the importance of professional military forces in ensuring regional stability.

Lt. General Joel P. Vowell also called on Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army General Waker Uz Zaman while visiting Dhaka from 24 to 25 March 2025. They exchanged views about further consolidating affiliations between the armed forces of the United States of America and Bangladesh looking forward to much more uplifted bonds between the two countries as well in days to come.
