Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods from different parts of the country equivalent to 152 crore 8 lakh 69 thousand taka in March 2025.
The seized commodities include gold, silver, sarees, three pieces, shirt pieces, shawls, blankets, readymade apparels, long clothes, cosmetics, imitation ornaments, fireworks, timber, tea, betel nuts, sugar, fertilizers, octane, coal, current nets, threads, mobile phones, mobile displays, spectacles, fruits, edible oil, onions, garlic, Cummins, sultanas, chocolates, touchstone statuettes, trucks, covered vans, pickups, private cars, microbuses, trolleys, boats, CNG auto rickshaws, easy bikes, motorcycles and bicycles.
BGB also recovered illegal arms and ammunitions in March 2025 including shooter guns, 46 bullets and 33,100 cartridges. During March 2025, BGB troops and officers also seized narcotics including yaba tablets, heroin, cocaine, phensydil, foreign liquor, local wine, beer cans, hashish, cigarettes etcetera.
BGB detained 134 smugglers in March 2025. BGB also nabbed 337 Bangladeshis and 14 Indians during the same period for crossing borders illegally and legal actions have been initiated against the detainees. Moreover, BGB pushed back 647 Myanmar citizens into their own country while they attempted to enter Bangladesh unlawfully in March 2025.
