'Want to work for the betterment of DAHS'

Abdus Sattar, the newly-nominated chairman of ad hoc committee of noted educational institution Daudkandi Adarsha High School (DAHS), said that he came to this school to work for the betterment of the school.

He said, "I did not come to the school to take rather I want to give my 100% for the betterment of the school. As an ex-student of this school, this is a place of passion for me. This is one of the oldest schools in the country. A successful person of this country, the heroic freedom fighter Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain sir, studied from this school. Many heroes and greats of the country studied from this school. I am also proud to be an ex-student of the school."

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a reception held by the school for the chairman of the newly-formed ad hoc committee of the school on Tuesday (April 8) afternoon.

Abdus Sattar further said, "If we cannot good to ourselves, we cannot urge anyone to be good. We ourselves try to be human first. The student community has brought a ray of light to this corrupt society and state system by giving life. We must enlighten the society and the state with this light."

"The previous fascist regime has completely destroyed the country's education system. We have to work from every position to improve the quality of education across the country. Instead of repeating the past, we want to make this school known as an ideal high school across the country. And to implement that, we need the cooperation of the people of this society, the teachers of this school, political figures, civil society, students and guardians of the school. If you give me the right advice and support, I will be able to work to improve the quality of school education by pouring my highest thoughts and consciousness… insha Allah," he added.

Chaired by Daudkandi Adarsha High School's Headmaster Alhaj Jasimuddin Ahmed, other speakers included: Baherchar High School Ad Hoc Committee Chairman Kamal Hossain, Assistant Headmaster Mihin Ullah, Assistant Headmaster Kabir Hossain, Senior Teacher Shafinaz Begum, Senior Teacher Shahadat Hossain, Municipal BNP Joint Convener Mahbubul Haque Hiron, Municipal BNP Joint Convener Kamal Hossain Sarker, Teacher Representative (TR) Member Mawlana Rashiduddin.
