Dinajpur police vowed to uproot drug abuse and corruption from the district to make a peaceful society, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Marufat Hossain. He came up with the remarks while addressing a Open House Day at Birampur police station premises on Saturday.
Momtazul Haque, officer-in-charge of Birampur police station, presided over the Open House Day while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nuzhat Tasneem Awon was present as special guest. Speaking as the chief guest, SP Marufat Hossain said, "If Allah wills, police will free this district from various types of illegal activities including drugs, corruption and drugs."
"Open House Day plays an important role in increasing trust and creating awareness among the general public", the SP added. He urged people from all walks of life to come forward to make the district free from all illegal activities.
Jamaat-e-Islami Central Majlis Surah Member Anwarul Islam, Central Majlis Surah Member and District Jamaat Secretary Dr Muhaddis Enamul Haque, BNP Birampur Upazila Unit President Alhaj Miah Md Shafiqul Islam Mamun, Birampur Municipality BNP General Secretary Rezaul Karim Reju, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Hafizul Islam and Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Advocate Shiron Alam along with leaders and activists of various Upazila BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami affiliate organizations, chairmen of various union parishads and UP members, teachers, journalists from print and electronic media were present at the program.
