Indigenous students from various educational institutions have been staging a demonstration in Khagrachari's sadar upazila on Sunday demanding immediate release of the five abducted students from the Chittagong University.
Hundreds of students gathered at Mahajanpara area in the upazila and brought out a protest rally from to press home their demand.
The procession ended in front of the Court area after parading main streets in the area.
They demanded the immediate release of the 5 abducted students from the rally and bring those involved in the rape incident in Rangamati's Kaukhali under the law.
Besides, they also condemned the obstruction of law enforcers at the anti-rape protest rallies in Khagrachhari and Rangamati on Saturday. Khagrachhari Government College students Tushan Chakma, Sumati Chakma and leaders of TSF, BMSC and PCP expressed solidarity with the rally.
Earlier on April 16, five Chittagong University students were abducted by the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) from Khagrachhari area.
The students were kidnapped at gunpoint from Giriphul area around 6:30am when they were travelling on a three-wheeler to Khagrachhari Sadar from Kukichhara area. UPDF, however, denied the allegation brought against them.
