BIAM Model School & College, Bogura: Teachers demand nationalization
The teachers of BIAM Model School & College Bogura have demanded the immediate nationlisation of the institution. In a press briefing at Bogura Press Club on Friday noon, they said like eleven model educational institutions in the district, Model School & College, Bogura was established on August 21, 2003 during the tenure of then Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Nishindhara area in Bogura.
Later, Tarique Rahman inaugurated the educational institution on June 26, 2005 and since then, the institution has been spreading the light of education in the area as the model and best institution but later unfortunately, out of 11 institutions two model school and college including Bogura Model School and College were taken under BIAM (Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management) Foundation in exchange of huge sum of money from the institution's funds, depriving the teachers and employees, they added.
On April 26, 2016, the Ministry of Education sought all papers from the principal of BIAM Model School & College, Bogura for the process of nationalization but he did not send them and consequently, an order was issued on September 18, 2017 for the nationalization declining BIAM Model School and College, Bogura, they further informed.The teachers demanded the immediate declaration of nationalization of the institution and threatened to launch tougher movement if their rightful demand is not met.
