Bollywood celebrities respond to India-Pakistan ceasefire announcement

Following days of heightened tension along the Line of Control (LoC) after India’s Operation Sindoor—conducted in retaliation for the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam—India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire. The truce, announced earlier yesterday at 5:25pm, was brokered by the United States and confirmed by President Donald Trump via a social media post.

President Trump stated, “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both countries for using common sense and great intelligence.” His announcement was soon echoed by official confirmations from both the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Pakistan's Foreign Ministry.

The news brought a wave of relief across the region, prompting many Indian film industry personalities to express their thoughts online.

Actress Raveena Tandon reacted swiftly, posting on Instagram: “If this is true, then it's a welcome decision. #ceasefire.” However, she also added a note of caution, emphasizing that any future acts of terrorism against India would be considered acts of war. She called for accountability in international funding, implying that global financial bodies should monitor how their loans are being utilized, hinting at misuse for militarization.
