Three electrocuted in Gaibandha

Three members of the same family died from electrocution at Saghata upazila in Gaibandha district on Thursday.

The incident took place around 10:00 AM at Kamaler Para village under same union in the upazila. The deceased were identified as Milon Mia, 28, son of Mokbul Hossain; Mosharraf Hossain, son of Ekramul Haq; and Afzal Hossain, 60, son of late Saheb Uddin, all residents of the area.

According to locals, Milon was on the roof of his house, cleaning leaves. When he stepped onto the roof of another house, he became electrocuted.
At this point, his uncle Afzal and cousin Mosharraf rushed to his aid but were also electrocuted in the process.

Later, locals rescued the three injured and took them to the Saghata Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty physician declared them dead.

Confirming the matter, Saghata Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Badsha Alam said that upon receiving the news, police went to the hospital and prepared the inquest report for three deceased individuals.

Their bodies were handed over to their families as there were no complaints, the OC added.
