Boro paddy procurement begins in Hakimpur
The Boro paddy and rice procurement programme has been inaugurated in Hakimpur Upazila of Dinajpur district. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Amit Roy inaugurated the paddy drive at Hili LSD food warehouse in the upazila on Monday.
Under this programme, 548 metric tons (mt) of paddy will be procured at the rate of Tk 36 per kilogram (kg), and 409 metric tons of rice at Tk 49 per kg, as fixed by the government.
According to the official sources, the rice will be collected from registered husking rice mills and auto-rice mills in the upazila. The paddy will be procured from farmers directly.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Arjena Begum, Upazila Food Officer Khaleda Begum and Warehouse Officer Sajedur Rahman along with journalists from print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
