BAEC organizes discussion program on enhancing nuclear education

A discussion program was held on Wednesday at Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) over the enhancement of nuclear education in the country. Scientists, academic scholars, media professionals and civil society dignitaries addressed the event.

Prominent poet and author Farhad Mazhar was the focal discussant at the above program. BAEC Chief Scientific Officer Dr. ASM Saifullah gave the welcome speech. Another Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Sheikh Manzura Haque presented the keynote paper describing the history, goals and vision of BAEC in details.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Faria Nasrin. The speakers at the view exchange meeting put forward 10 points for the expansion of nuclear intellect across Bangladesh and to overcome main challenges while pursuing this objective.

Professor Kamrul Hasan Mamun, Department of Physics, Dhaka University and Professor Md. Jamal Uddin from Environmental Science Department, Jahangirnagar University also talked about the prospects and necessity of widening academic education and research on nuclear technology in Bangladesh.
